This song, written by Gus Edwards in 1905, celebrates the early automobile.
Come away with me, Lucille,
In my merry Oldsmobile,
Over the road of life we'll fly,
Automobubbling, you and I,
To the church we'll swiftly steal,
And our wedding bells will peal,
You can go as far as you like with me,
In our merry Oldsmobile.
Note the early relationship established between the automobile and romantic love. The car was good for nothing if it could not get you to the church on time. Also, "over the road of life" has become a veritable cliche in our day.

What, indeed, does Automobubbling look like?
